I had to think about this for a while. Maybe you didn’t truly want an answer; maybe you’ll only get some blather. I couldn’t say one thing that I definitively stand for. I think it boils down to being happy, but not at the expense of others’ happiness. Now, I’m sure I don’t achieve this all of the time. But often, it means responsibility to the larger society – like, I might be happy to have a Hummer, but I choose not to get one because I believe that would infringe on the happiness of future generations through its overconsumption of resources. I try to complete with excellence the tasks I undertake, and to do things right the first time. And, for many years, I have subscribed almost religiously to the golden rule. These are some things I stand for.
